Join Wilderness Workshop (WW) for our 2023 Community Party and help us kick off the Summer events season! With restoration and stewardship projects, hikes in landscapes we’re working to protect, bilingual events like Latino Conservation Week, and actions you can take to protect our environment, we’ve got many ways to connect with public lands. The annual Community Party is the Workshop’s chance to say thank you to our incredible local supporters for all you do on behalf of Western Colorado’s public lands. Additional details are below.

What: 2023 Community Party

When: Friday, June 2 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Where: Sopris Park (Corner of Main St. & Weant Blvd.) in Carbondale

Cost: Free and open to the public!

Register: Registration online or via our Facebook event is appreciated, but not required.

Join us as part of First Friday! We’ll have:

  • Live music by the Pink Hawks (Spotify, Instagram) & The Confluents (Instagram)
  • Food from Mama’s Pierogis, Teresa’s Food Truck, and Señor Mango
  • Members receive 1 free beer (until the kegs run dry!) or a non-alcoholic drink from the bar; drinks also available for purchase
  • Activities – Rosybelle Mobile Maker Bus, bounce castle, face painting, yard games, and more – for all ages!
  • Take action for public lands and learn about our summer events
  • The chance to join or renew your WW Membership

“Our ongoing work to protect places like the Thompson Divide – and the current opportunity we have with the proposed Administrative Mineral Withdrawal – truly showcases how critical an engaged and passionate community of public lands supporters is. I hope you’ll join us in Sopris Park to both celebrate our successes from the past year and find out how you can help us protect more public lands moving forward!” – Erin Riccio, WW Advocacy Director

WW’s full summer event calendar will first be shared with members and supporters in the latest edition of Wild Works and by email in late May; information will be available online at wildernessworkshop.org/events soon after and in-person at the Community Party. Additional information about the proposed Thompson Divide Administrative Mineral Withdrawal can be found here and in recent issues of Wild Works.
