Stand at the Summit
One Valley, One Landscape
Friday, October 4
Field trips (hikes) | 10am – 5pm, Party | 5 – 7pm
Free and open to the public
The Roaring Fork and North Fork Valleys and the adjacent communities are united in defending our local public lands on both sides of McClure Pass. We stand together to ensure responsible use, management and preservation of the land, rivers and habitats that provide our communities with the clean air, pure water and abundant recreational opportunities we rely on.
This year, we are united to:
• Stop oil and gas development in the roadless area near Huntsman’s Ridge
• Help permanently protect the Thompson Divide by supporting the Colorado Outdoor Recreation and Economy (CORE) Act
• Create a sensible Uncompahgre Resource Management Plan for the North Fork Valley
Join Wilderness Workshop, Thompson Divide Coalition, Western Slope Conservation Center, and High Country Conservation Advocates to learn more about the shared issues our communities are facing, while we mingle around the camp fire and enjoy live music by Paonia musician Sam Heart and a sampling of snacks and libations from both valleys. Please bring a personal camping chair and / or blanket with you! This is a family-friendly event. Field trips available day-of (see below).
