Rifle Arch Hike
Sunday, October 3, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Rifle Arch, CO
Join Wilderness Workshop on a hike to take in views of Rifle Arch, the Roan Plateau and the Grand Hogback. Along the way we’ll talk about Wilderness Workshop’s efforts to protect these wilderness quality landscapes from oil and gas development. The Grand Hogback would be permanently protected as Wilderness in the Colorado Wilderness Act, which passed the House of Representatives earlier this year! We will also share how to get involved in upcoming planning processes for the area so you can help us protect these wild public lands.
- This will be a half day hike and roughly 3 miles round trip on a well-established trail.
- Additional project details and driving directions will be emailed to participants within 1 week of the project date.
- Family-friendly project appropriate for ages 10+. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- No dogs allowed.
- Please bring appropriate clothing, water, snacks, sunscreen, and a pack to carry your belongings.
To help us plan, please register in advance. Additional information will be sent in your confirmation email.
