OVERNIGHT PERMITS AT CONUNDRUM HOT SPRINGS
The Forest Service recently implemented an Overnight Visitor Use Management Plan to create a permit system in select high-use areas in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. The Forest Service’s environmental analysis identified places like Conundrum Hot Springs, and Crater, Capital and Snowmass Lakes as exceeding their capacity and suffering environmental damage.
Beginning this summer, overnight stays at Conundrum Hots Springs will require a permit. Other locations do not yet require a permit. Wilderness Workshop supports the Forest Service plan and believes most locals are in support as well. We all want to protect our precious wilderness resource.
