The Roaring Fork and North Fork Valleys and the adjacent communities are united in defending our local public lands on both sides of McClure Pass. We stand together to ensure responsible use, management and preservation of the land, rivers and habitats that provide our communities with the clean air, pure water and abundant recreational opportunities we rely on. Together, we are fighting to stop development in the roadless area near Huntsman’s Ridge and support the Thompson Divide Withdrawal and Protection Act to protect this special area once and for all.
Join Wilderness Workshop, the Western Slope Conservation Center and High Country Conservation Advocates to hear comments from community leaders and stakeholders representing both valleys. We’ll have live music by Paonia musician, Sam Heart, and an array of snacks, beers and drinks sourced from both valleys. Come to learn more about the shared issues we are facing, as well as to network and mingle around the camp fire. This is a family-friendly event.
