Mushroom Forage with Chef Miles
Sunday, July 22
8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Free and open to the public, registration required.

Join Wilderness Workshop’s naturalist guide Brandon Jones and Caribou Club’s Miles Angelo for a mushroom forage and hike, location TBD. It’s mushroom pickin’ time and we hope that some late-season rain will be a boon to our fungal friends. Learn how to spot edible mushrooms and properly forage with a minimal ecological footprint. Bring a folding knife to cut mushrooms. Foraging for wild edibles is just one of many ways to get out and enjoy our public lands, and we are thrilled to have the support of Chef Miles, who has been studying, collecting, and cooking with Rocky Mountain mushrooms for over 25 years.

  • This will be a difficult, 6-mile hike.
  • No dogs are allowed.
  • This adult program is appropriate for those 18 years and older.
  • Bring appropriate day hike equipment including water, snacks, and lunch. Suggested Day Hike Gear List

This free hike is sponsored by Alpine Bank, The Thrift Shop of Aspen, City of Aspen, The Aspen Times, and True Nature Healing Arts.
