Tell the BLM it’s premature and irresponsible to move forward with management planning for reduced Bears Ears and Grand Staircase boundaries
In December, President Donald Trump dismantled Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments, eliminating 2 million acres of public land protections. Now, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is moving forward with creating land-use management plans, using the diminished monument boundaries. Trump’s Proclamations 9681 and 9682 are currently subjects of ongoing legal challenges and could be overturned by the courts. Until the courts have made final decisions, it is premature and irresponsible for the BLM to move forward with amending its management plans for the affected tracts. Please submit your comment letter today and tell the BLM to pump the brakes on its fast-moving plans to change the how these areas are managed.
