The Roaring Fork and North Fork Valleys and the adjacent communities are united in defending our local public lands on both sides of McClure Pass. We stand together to ensure responsible use, management and preservation of the land, rivers and habitats that provide our communities with the clean air, pure water and abundant recreational opportunities we rely on. Together, we are fighting to stop development in the roadless area near Huntsman’s Ridge and support the Thompson Divide Withdrawal and Protection Act to protect this special area once and for all. Help us celebrate and say goodbye to our outgoing Executive Director, Sloan Shoemaker, in Sopris Park in Carbondale on Friday, September 21 from 5-9 p.m. We’ll be offering FREE beer and non-alcoholic beverages to all Wilderness Workshop members, as well as affordable meals from a food truck (veggie options available). Restore a Wetland Friday to Sunday, September 7-9

Crooked Creek Wetlands Project Fri.-Sun., Sept. 7-9 Crooked Creek Pass – Back by popular demand! The Forest Service has removed a series of dams to restore a former high elevation wetland; our crew will car camp (optional) and re-vegetate the area with willows and other native species. This is the third year of this important and well-liked project. We’re partnering on this project with Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers (RFOV), the Forest Service and the Roaring Fork Conservancy.
